A Nintendo representative has confirmed to Game|Life that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not be among the playable games present at E3. This is because Nintendo wants to focus on other games and not have Brawl steal the show.

Disappointing news for Nintendo fans looking for hands-on impressions of Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- the Wii fighting game won't be playable at next week's E3.

Game|Life's media relations representative at Nintendo confirmed the news this afternoon, but stressed that Smash Bros. was still very much on for its 2007 release date.

Several never-before-seen Wii titles will be announced and playable at the show, but due to the constrictive, tightly scheduled nature of this year's scaled-back E3, Nintendo wanted to have a smaller game portfolio.

    FIRST, BABY!

As long as it's still out in 2007, it's all good.

Wow, I figured someone would have already posted this a while ago...

Anyway, it's not like most of us would have gotten a chance to play this at E3 anyway. Hopefully this means the development team can use the time they would have wasted making a playable demo for polishing the game further.

I never saw it being playable at E3 anyways. Not a biggie for me. But I'd still like some info on the game.

This is a very smart move by Nintendo. If Brawl was playable, you know there will be a few sites that will write up some bad hands-on impressions of the game, (no matter how great the game may be) thus resulting in fewer sales. This way, Nintendo can maintain the huge postive hype around the game by releasing a kick-ass trailer instead of having it playable.

It's probably gonna be playable at E for All or Tokyo Game Show.

It's already been said, no chance I'd be able to go to E3 to play it anyway so this doesn't bother me.

Also been said that just as long as this game does come out in 2007 as being scheduled I'll be happy.

Not a big deal, E3's not as huge as it used to be, anyways. I just hope they deliver the official roster. The longer they leave me in suspense the more my interest for it decreases.

Ok, that's a lie, I'll get this game no matter what happens, heh, but I didn't lie about being disappointed.

I understand the rationale by Nintendo, the game doesn't need the playing aspect of it, the game already has HUGE hype.

I think it's a pretty clever move by Nintendo.
They want to focus on gaining more popularity for other games, while keeping the popularity that SSBM already has (without possibly "damaging" it with disappointments/bad feedback/etc. )

Well it's not as if this will affect the game in any way. I mean, there's been enough information about it in the past year, and people will buy it regardless.

It's just a shame I guess, that we won't get to see a bit more lol
