God of War 3 sure is taking advantage of Blu-Rays storage capacities. The final count for the size of the game? 35GB. Yes thats right, the game had to use a dual layers just to get every last bit of gore.

Tim Moss, Director of Technology at Sony Santa Monica, has revealed the monstrous amount of space that God of War III is set to take up on Blu-Ray.

In a tweet this morning, Moss states “#GOW3 35Gb of goodness. Thank heavens for Dual Layer Blu-Rays”.

Well didn't MGS4 use up both sides of the dual layers?

But still, its good to know because larger games usually mean better games. Can't wait.

Not only that but stuff had to actually be removed to fit on a 50GB BD.

Pretty good, though I had expected it to take up more. Can't wait to play this.

When the E3 demo took up 2.7Gb of my precious HDD I wasn't expecting a small game.

I wouldn't expect it to be small anyways. That's a lot more than what I can hold on my old laptop!

Especially considering the game will probably barely expand past 8 hours in length. If this game was Metal Gear Solid 4 length I could see it being the largest filesize in gaming.
