Uncharted 2's writing has caught the attention of Hollywood, as last Saturday Amy Hennig won the WGA Award for best writing in a video game. The WGA has started awarding video game writing since 2007. The previous award winners include Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Dead Head Fred.

Amy Hennig, writer and director of Sony’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, won the Writers Guild of America award for best videogame writing on Saturday.

This year’s WGA Awards, presented during simultaneous ceremonies held in New York and Los Angeles, honored not only screenwriting and videogames, but also radio, news and promotional writing.

Hennig’s script for Naughty Dog’s PlayStation 3 action game was up against Assassin’s Creed II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Wet and X-Men Origins.

On Thursday, Hennig and fellow Uncharted 2 writers Neil Druckmann and Josh Scherr also took home the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences award for best original game story.
