Terrorists often use any kind of garbage they can get their hands on for use in a bomb. During a sweep of a Taliban camp in Jaji, Afghanistan last year, U.S. Army members came across one such device built with a PlayStation controller used as the trigger.

You’ve pressed the X button countless times to detonate virtual bombs, but the Taliban is using thrown-out video game technology, like a PlayStation controller, to ignite real incendiaries 7,000 miles away in Afghanistan.

Wow . This took the Taliban to a new low. Hopefully they won't desecrate another video system/controller.

Well they are only retaliating. The US Military use Xbox 360 controllers to pilot some of their UAVs. Who knew war was just one big fanboy battle.

Do they really? I always thought it would be pretty cool if the army attached remote-controlled weaponry to vehicles and such and have the MLG pros take a whack at it with the controller of their choice haha.

Who will be the first mother or politician to use this against video games?

Either Sarah Palin or that other democrat no one cares about. Sony should put an anti terrorist chip in their game systems that make it so the controller explodes if handles by terrorists.

      A man can dream...

I reckon this'll just give Palin ideas for child-friendly hunting peripherals.

Such as the new Nintendo Wiifle.

Am I the only one who found that comment funny? Judging by my thumbs up being the only one I am.

This comment obviously deserves more praise. Believe me, I'm a Muslim and even I know the Taliban are lunatics.

I wonder: were Osama's recordings done with the eyetoy?

Did anyone else notice that this is an original PS1 controller? That's so sick. Pre-analog sticks. That shit was a collectors item, just think what it's worth now, covered in the aftermath of plastic explosives.

Well Afghanistan is a third world country. I'm not saying their stuck in the 20th century, but they're pretty behind.
