I haven't turned on my PS3 today...should I just happily assume it works and leave it that way?

I don't know if anybody agrees. But I think people are blowing the problem totally out of proportion. Sure, it's bloody annoying, but in the end Sony'll sort it out and it'll be nothing more than a blip. People need to stop being such whining reactionaries.

Indeed sir. Like the guy said above, at least they're fixing it. Far better than having to deal with the constant fear of downright hardware failure.

We live in a day and age where the very baseline of our gadgets get rewritten and revised on a daily basis. It's a wonder more catastrophic shit doesn't happen all the freaking time! It's pretty incredible what we can do these days.

THIS IS WHAT RED RING FEELS LIKE PS3 BITCHES

Lol just joking, that's kinda lame, hopefully Sony will get right on it.

Eh, the red ring get's fixed free of charge now a days... that sucks though. I have both systems, I'm just glad I game more on my 360 than my PS3.

And isn't this problem only for fat PS3's? Because my friend has the slim and he encountered the same problem and error message.

You're seriously "glad" you game more on your 360 than your PS3 because of this one day of downtime? Look it's fine and all that you prefer your 360 over your PS3, but to be "glad" you prefer your console that you've probably had next to a month of downtime with because of the RROD compared to a console with literally 24hrs of it? Really?

Good thing my Phat bricked itself(got the yellow light of death) and I got a new Slim before this all happened.

But unlike the red ring of death, I would say that Sony has reacted pretty darn quickly to the issue.

So Nintendo... where's your fatal error? Don't you feel left out?

Sony didn't do anything. the ps3's fixed themselves.
