I assume because anybody who shells out the cash to buy a PS3 is a serious gamer and won't buy a kid game like Katamari. Wii players, however, being casual kid gamers, are much more likely to want to buy it.

WOW. WOW WAH-HA-HOW! WOW! All I can say is *raspberry*

Way to be arrogant, fanboy. Katamari is one of the most brilliant games ever made. It is in no way a kid's game. You've totally never played the game.

Yes, because everybody knows rolling around big chunks of junk to make even bigger chunks of junk for freaky big-headed people is such a complex and wondrous game.

In addition, if it was "one of the most brilliant games ever made", why did the market suck so bad for it? Nobody bought it and it made absolutely zero cash in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The only reason they made a sequel is because it did somewhat good in the Japanese market, which doesn't even apply here because their market is so different. If it was such an amazing game, it would've made more money.

Like I said, you totally never played it. Childlike as it seems, it is a charmingly funny game, not to mention EPIC.

You lose. I assure you as an adult gamer, the Katamari games are highly enjoyable and challenging, and at a particular point, frustrating. Come back to me when you've rolled up a CowBear.

You're just *bleep*ing ignorant. By that logic, Okami is NOT amazing because it didn't make that much money. Riiiiiiiight.

who are you talking to ameer, i was agreeing with reenee for the first time. I liked this game and it wasn't a kid game.

PLaying the demo counts as having played the game.

That's correct. I've played the demo and that's how I know it sucks. I would never trash a game I haven't even played.

Just shut up please thats like saying you played NGS demo and claiming it sucks while it gets nearly perfect reviews and says its awesome. How about you rent the game b4 making BS claims.

If the game didn't suck, why did it sell like shit in the U.S., Canada and Europe? If it was a good game, people would've bought it. But they didn't, so it must have sucked. Plus, i played the demo myself. You use the analog stick to rol around a ball of crud, crush stuff with it and make ti stick to you to make an even bigger ball of crud, attempting to get a certain size ball of crud within a certain time limit.

I love your comment from before, you're sooo mature.

The game sells so badly, that's why PS3 is dropping it. I don't know what the hell the 360 is still in for, but I'll at least give you that it would be pretty fun on the Wii.

A game that originated from a Sony console moves on...reminds me of DoA. I have a feeling that they were bought off, that's common xD Either that or they felt that they wouldn't sell well on the PS3 because Sony's latest console is lugging behind.

Katamari didn't sell well in the US because the "hardcore" took one look and passed it off as a kids game.

The same didn't happen to Okami, which was a VERY critically acclaimed title. I'm pretty sure this would've been a bigger deal if it was some kind of Okami sequel.

Because IT WAS NICHE. It was still a great game. If it still sold like "shit", as you claim to be, then why did we get a sequel AND a PSP game?

And it's being dropped from the PS3 because the devs claim it was too hard to port from the 360. Oops.

You got a sequel because it sold good in the Japanese market. In the U.S., Canada and Europe market it sold like shit, but the minor sales were still enough to turn a small profit from just converting the sequels to English.

The PS3 isn't selling as well as the Wii. Does that officially mean the PS3 is crap? No. Sales of a game does not justify how good a game is.

A Pac-Man remake for Playstation got extremely low scores everywhere. Yet it sold over 3 million copies. Why? Because it's Pac-Man. It's definitely a household name. Katamari isn't due to its abstractness and its link more towards the Japanese culture rather than America, Canada, and Europe.

A sequel can be made by its high fanbase, not just from the money. Not all developers care about money. If that were the case, every single Mario, Halo, and God of War games would come out like complete shit.

The PS3 isn't selling well because parents don't want to shell out the cash for a technological, next-generation marvel for their casual kid gamers. That's a completely different subject entirely.

Katamari didn't sell good here because most American, Canadian, and European gamers just found it ridiculous (whether they were right or wrong is entirely your own opinion).

Though I do applaud you for a well-written response.

And i commend you for your BS response. The fact is this has nothing to do with money, nor does sequels. most people like this game and since most games normally comes from japan they will determine whats good or not. It has high fanbase that well over sales buddy. Again lets pu your Okami to the test and lets see how much money that got oh wait it didnt get alot.

    this news makes me unhappy.
Well, on the bright side, they might just get the katamari on the PS3 later and beef it up with extra features. No worries.

It's a shame that they'd cancel it so far into production, especially since this game has been getting a pretty good rep lately. Not a smart move, imo.
