Playstation 3 owners can rejoice, an anticipated game will soon be playable through the Playstation Network...as a demo, but still, it's better than nothing, and we can see if it deserves the hype it's been getting.
As Ninja Theory polishes towards its Fall release date for Heavenly Sword, gamers are anxious for something more than editor impressions and gameplay videos. Instead, Ninja Theory's promising they'll be delivering a playable demo for their action adventure and it's coming in the "very near future."
Speaking on their newly launched IGN blog (via N4G), Ninja Theory teased what's coming:
"I can confirm that we are, of course, going to be releasing a demo for Heavenly Sword...and soon! This will be downloadable via the Playstation Network...so keep an eye out for this in the very near future...and I mean very near future!"
Hmm. Is Sony Computer Entertainment America planning to combat Microsoft's typically dominating E3 presence on Xbox Live?

For example, some people think the game looks cool, and they would buy it without trying it first, but then after they try the demo they don't want to get it anymore.
Some people haven't really heard of the game, so they would not have bought the game without first trying it out, and then they really like the demo so they will buy it.
When a company releases the demo, they think the latter category will far outweigh the former, in addition to causing more hype about the game. Therefore, when a developer releases a demo, they generally must be very confident that people will like it.
