Tamara Broome, a 31 year old World of Warcraft (abbreviated commonly to WoW) player was arrested on charges of abducting a child. The child in question is a 17 year old teen WoW player, who was attempting to travel to Australia with Broome. This case is certainly interesting. Over-protective or good parenting? I'll leave it up to you to decide.

AN AUSTRALIAN woman has been arrested in the US for trying to lure her young internet boyfriend to Australia.

It is believed Tamara Broome, 31, might have been set up by the boy's parents.

Ms Broome told her housemate they paid for her to travel to the US this week so "they could sort it all out".

Instead, Ms Broome was met by three detectives as she tried to board a train near the teenager's home town in North Carolina.

She was charged with attempting to abduct a child after a 17-year-old boy was caught trying to board a flight to Australia.

Last Saturday she left Australia to meet the teenager, but she is now behind bars at the Pitt County Detention Centre in North Carolina.

The university student is said to have begun an intense relationship with the boy, then 16, a year ago through medieval-themed online role-playing game World of Warcraft.

It is understood the pair planned to marry.

Wow. I think they went kind of far on this one. She was just trying to meet her Internet boyfriend. If he was one year older it wouldn't be a problem. I wonder if they will be one of those couples who get together after she gets out of jail? (if she does end up going).

I don't see her in the wrong.

Whoa Whoa, Whoa- Sounds like this relationship was Consensual! Is this Abduction!? Whaaaat??? Or other people being nosy in not-their-business?
If they had relationship for a year and mutually agreed on their future, then what's with the arrest?

They give you a list of similar articles when you first try and submit it to prevent this from happening. But just like everything else in the world, only works if you actually use it.

This is just proof that some people have to lives IMO. People shouldn't be meeting like this, and this was seriously stupid for both of them, considering the age difference and the fact that he was a minor.

Oops, sorry, made it seem like I thought people should be meeting like this. XD

    ...

Sometimes people take WoW way too seriously.

This really has nothing to do with taking WoW seriously or not. 2 people played a game and developed some sort of rapport. If WoW didn't exist, they would probably have met online in any number of other places.
