A report on the announcement that the Aliens Vs Predator demo, available from PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Steam prior to the full game's launch at retail, has become a record breaking downloadable release for SEGA.

The multiplayer demo version of Aliens Vs. Predator allowed fans to choose between playing as an Alien, Predator or Colonial Marine and was available from February 5th until February 26th. Downloadable from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PlayStation Network, and Steam for PC, the Aliens Vs. Predator demo hit an impressive 4.1 million downloads during it’s period of availability, despite reports of matchmaking issues on the PlayStation 3 requiring SEGA to relaunch with an updated version of the demo on PlayStation Network mid-way through the trail period.
