Runescape on console " tempting " - says MMO's creator

For all you Runescape fans ^^
Looks as though it could possibly be coming to a console in the near future ! At the moment, it seems as though the PS3 is the main choice, but a Wii / 360 version could come into the works.

Runescape developer Jagex has revealed a console version of its browser-based fantasy MMO is something it keeps considering, the arrival of Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 making such more tempting than ever before.

"It's certainly more interesting with the current generation of consoles of course because they're far more Internet-connected than the previous generation and it just wasn't worth looking at", the game's creator Andrew Gower told CVG recently.

"But with the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the Wii, it's much more tempting, I have to say".

    This is pretty interesting. I have played the game on the computer and found it very interesting, if they could make a good port out of it I would definately buy it.

    Why would you want to pay money to play it on a console when you oculd get the same kind of experience for free on the PC ?

    Actually, why would you want to play RuneScape at all ?

      You still have to pay on the PC to become a member, which gives you access to all the features you couldnt have if you werent a member. Overall, paying for the membership can be as expensive as buying a game in real life, but people still do it.

      Also, as I said, I think it is really fun, and my friends think so to. If you dont like it, then that is your opinion and I respect it.

    RuneScape on Wii: Probably the one thing that might get me playing it again.

    Actually, I hope it doesn't happen. I'll end up wasting another 3 years of my life.

    Maybe if you buy the Blu-ray/console version, they will forgo the membership fee or something? At least for X number of months or something?

    Dunno if I really care about this, as I've never played it...

    Awesome i love runescape i haven't played it cause i lost my password and screen name. but i hope this stays for ps3, we need all the games we can get

    I can't imagin it on the Wii, But I can see it on PS3 Xbox360 as they have solid online play.

    This does not interest me the slightest, to be honest. Ive never cared for Runescape and doubt the fact that I can now purchase it to play it on a console would change that.

    A few years ago I would of been glad to have this happen. But now I don't really care. Runescape got boring and I only log on when I'm truly bored out of my mind.

    Runescape bored me to death. I just can't see this game selling well. Maybe updated graphics will help it.

    well i havent been on it in a while but when i was on there was about a million people on, i myself wouldn't buy it but all the people that still play it would buy it. IMO.

    I think I went on for 10 minutes a few years ago and found it to lame and boring. I probably would have got addicted to it like everyone else if I did keep playing, luckily I have stayed away from it.

    Bringing it to consoles will be a big success for them, the additional content they could provide on the 360 Marketplace could make fortunes for them.

    and considering how many people that are still on runescape and how many that have a 360, if they are anywhere around half, they will be rich, hands down.

    All of you guys are against this i am too

    I'd rather have a CD version on the pc that's it or a offline version for the DS
