We all know that a SIXAXIS rumble will soon come out, but details on the controller are still under wraps. PSM France believes that not only will it feature "vanilla" rumble, but also a "touch sense" feature that allows rumble to emanate from specific part of the controller.

SIXAXIS force feedback is said to be even "more powerful and more intense then the ps2's rumble".

important things that we have yet to find out are when we can expect the return of ‘proper’ PlayStation controllers and how exactly the rumble features will be implemented.

Current rumours emerging from the latest issue of PSM France suggest that the forthcoming rumbling SIXAXIS controller will not only sport a vanilla rumble, but it will also boast a "touch sense" feature that allows rumbles to emanate from specific locales on the device.

What’s more, the shakin' is said to be "more powerful and more intense" than the PS2’s rumble feature, with programmers apparently working to enable shorter bursts of sensation so that players will be able to feel the most subtle of movements via the SIXAXIS.

If this news turns out to be true, this is amazing news both for gamers and for Sony Computer Entertainment itself.

SPOnG will hopefully be bringing you more on this directly from Sony’s E3 conference next Wednesday. Fingers crossed!

Errr, yeah...Wasn't this reported on before, and I think from the same French source?

In any case, I think it is cool I don't look forward to buying a new controller, but I suppose I will, if it is reasonably priced (like same price as current one)....

There might be a 'trade in' controller policy or something?

Actually it does look the same as mine Sixaxis Shock Details Unveiled ?

However mine didn't mention vanilla rumble what does that mean?

I think it means that different parts of the controller will rumble at different times, unlike previous controllers that just rumble in one central location.
