Possible bad timing to have a hot in-demand games console as Sony is having a hard time keeping store shelves stocked with Playstation 3 at the same time that God of War III releases.

Sony has had problems keeping a steady supply of Playstation 3 consoles in stores to meet demand since Christmas. The introduction of the PS3 Slim along with a price drop last year increased demand for the console but resulted in store shelves being cleared out for the holidays. Sony has been working with retailers but admits that supply will "be tight for a bit longer." Now Sony may be in the precarious spot of having a system seller game but little in the way of systems to sell.

This a problem that any company would love to have. I know its not good, but you know that the product is in high demand.

Too true, and anyone who doesn't already have a PS3 but wants one bad enough just for one game (in this case God of War 3) isn't going to give up on finding one to play the game just because they can't get a hold of one on release date.

Hilarious, when the PS3 first came out, there weren't enough and people were shooting each other over them, then there were too many and stores weren't able to sell them, and now we come full circle back to PS3s becoming harder to find. My sister wanted to get her fiancee a PS3 and dragged me with her, and we had to go to multiple Best Buy's to find one, when around 2 years ago, when I got my PS3 at best buy, they had a huge stack of them just sitting there.
