More industry smack talk this time involving Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime. This time, Fils-Aime doesn't think that Wii owners will take on the cost of leaving the Wii for the Playstation 3 and Move.

We previously discussed the potential cost of Sony's Playstation Move for the PS3 and now Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime sounds off on Sony's claim that Wii owners will want to upgrade to a PS3 and PS Move. In an interview with IndustryGamers, Fils-Aime doubts that Wii owners will upgrade because of the potential costs involved.

People are more likely to migrate for the games and eye candy not the motion controller experience. Reggie is on the front lines as their ultimate pitch guy again it seems, trying to give the idea that the only reason someone might migrate now is because of Natal and Move. >_< yeah. sure.

Might be right there Reggie considering most of your install base is too lazy to even go out and buy games.

    lol

Getting rid of my Wii and gettng a PS3 w/Move is exactly what I'm planning to do. Let's see, I bought my Wii to able to shoot Nazis in the face with a magical pointing stick. The PS3 offers better graphics, better online capability, and now it's own magical pointing stick. I'm totally getting a PS3 now.

Regardless of that, where's the picture of Reggie's adorable douche-face? Hmmm?

Would have to generally agree with Reggie here. The Playstation Move just isn't going to achieve the same 'Pick up and Play' mentality the Wii has going, it's too late and too different to pull off the same feel. No doubt the PS3 will compete with other features, and the Playstation Move will likely offer at least a few experiences worth having, but I just don't see a massive shift because of it.

Did you say "too different"? The Move is essentially what the Wii should have been for functionality. Sure it may be late in the game but Sony have said it themselves the core gamer has a choice they never have to use this thing if they like, what Sony want is to allow the casual gamer to hopefully become the next core gamer. I personally think Sony will achieve that especially with an aggressive ad campaign that is funny and informative.

at least they admit it's an upgrade.

if they actually used the word "upgrade", that is.

Of course people are not going to upgrade from a wii to playstation 3 for the move.

Their going to upgrade to Playstation 3 because of it's games.
You know, Core games that hasn't given everyone who's not a casual gamer the cold shoulder?

    Oh...I guess you don't.

An article about Reggie should not be approved unless it uses the picture of Reggie.
