A report on the discovery that Microsoft are continuing to use footage of the PlayStation 3 release of Final Fantasy XIII to promote the Xbox 360 release.

While the game remains available solely on PlayStation 3 in Japan, the UK release of Final Fantasy XIII has been much more widely publicised for the Xbox 360. Along with a number of bundle options including both the software and a console to play it on, television adverts and sponsored magazine coverage has often managed to conveniently forget that the game is also available on Sony’s PlayStation 3 – the system for which the game had originally been announced as an exclusive title worldwide. However, it appears that the additional publicity for the Xbox 360’s release of Final Fantasy XIII hasn’t gone without a hitch.

I don't blame them, the CG on the 360 is pretty mucked up and the PS3 version looks noticeably better in-game too, especially when it comes to characters hair. That's because of about the hundred less lines of pixels on the 360 version.

It doesn't mean the 360 version is crap, it just means it's not the best version.

I feel like I always have to proactively address my posts otherwise people will go to extremes with what I say. It's sad that I should feel I need to do that...

Comparison I have to thank Darknet for turning me on to this excellent site. A very technical approach to comparisons, one I can respect.

I just wish Final Fantasy XIII had motion blur, that would take it to a whole other level. It's unfortunate it doesn't.

There's a reason people buy graphics cards and 600 dollar consoles. I want the best IQ available.
