It was recently tweeted by screenwriter Kyle Ward that actor Jamie Foxx was cast for the role of Lynch in the upcoming film adaptation of Kane & Lynch. A script is in play, and we already have a Kane (Bruce Willis), so it looks like the film is finally going to take off with the role of Lynch given. It's certainly an interesting pick for the psychopathic sidekick, but perhaps Foxx and Willis can make this movie happen...and not face the dreaded 'video game movies suck' syndrome.

The Kane and Lynch movie has had its Kane for quite a while in Bruce Willis, and now it's found its Lynch. Screenwriter Kyle Ward tweeted last night that Jamie Foxx is in as the psychologically unbalanced mercenary James Lynch. He had to clarify that he wasn't referencing the movie based on Uncharted that he's also writing, after one user jokingly asked about "a black Nate Drake." We previously reported that producer Adrian Askarieh was impressed by Bruce Willis' enthusiasm for the script. "He called it one of the best action scripts he's read," said Askarieh, "and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he's read everything over the last 20 years." Now Foxx, who is relatively new to action movies as compared to Willis, will be playing alongside him.

*bleep* off.. Not to sound racist but surely Lynch would be better played by a white actor considering in the games he is *bleeping* white. This is like making a film about Elvis Presley and casting Samuel L. Jackson as Elvis, it's retarded. I don't care how good an actor Jamie Foxx is he doesn't fit Lynch whatsoever.

Hmm... I have to agree with you there. I've actually never played Kane & Lynch but clearly Jamie Foxx doesn't match the physical characteristics as depicted by the video game. But this is a fictional character we're talking about. It's a bit more forgivable if it's reinterpretted than "Samuel L. Jackson as Elvis". lol

I disagree. Foxx is a great actor and I think he'll be able to pull it off, white or not. Let's take Ludacris being Jim Bravura in Max Payne. It completely changed his character, not because Luda was black but because he turned Bravura from an old cop guy into a young cop 'dude'. Had it been the black cop from Die Hard (or another fairly old and rotund black guy) it would have fit. Color really has little to do with character, unless the character is a racist, but I don't believe that to be a problem here.

Your example is terrible as well. SLJ is very much a type actor these days. Foxx isn't, though you'd probably know that if you'd actually seen his films

Not to mention, SLJ really isn't that great of an actor anyways. In fact, he's not very good at all. He can yell real good and his voice is amusing, but he's no Daniel Day Lewis.

I think the only reason SLJ is still in movie business is because he's good at dropping the F bomb. Which is just about all he does now.

Everyone just likes him because he's an eccentric dude who wears glasses and hats to inteviews and tries to be real nice to the hosts. He has always come off to me like the kind of guy who tries really hard to be nice on talk shows, but in reality is actually the total asshole that everyone thought he was off set.

Actually he's more like a really nice guy who just acts like a really good ass hole in shows when he needs to. This is evident in how he was on Ricky Gervais' show, Extras. Now if Ricky thought someone was an ass hole he'd either say they are or just refuse to comment, but he actually said SLJ was cool throughout his filming; a bit of a diva at one point but who in the industry isn't?

To be fair though he has had his moments, people just know what they like so he plays it safe by taking the cliche option.

Yeah, true. But after his performances in the Star Wars movies, I can see for a fact he has a much wider acting skillset than he's letting on nowadays. In fact Star Wars is probably some of his better movies; I just liked the way he carried himself in those movies.

That is quite stupid having a black actor as a white character, not sure who else they could of used but not Jamie Foxx

Apparently Eddie Murphy's going to play The Riddler too. The KKK are gonna be pissed!
