SCEA CEO Jack Tretton has spoken about the service charge for PSN. Which many of you know probably will come in the future. He says Sony won't charge for PSN unless the features that come with it justify the charge. He also says that Sony are planing a huge E3 with plenty of announcements and also promises Killzone 3 will come, but we don't know if it will be announced at E3.

"There's no question that if we can come up with a compelling experience that will warrant an investment from consumers that that would be something we would consider."

"We already feel we brough a lot of value to the consumer... but until we feel we have something, like PlayStation Move, that justifies an investment, we aren't going to come out with half cocked technology or product offerings."

Tretton also enticed PS3 and PSP owners to watch out for this year's E3. Apparently GDC was just a small taste. Sony's keeping the big guns holstered for the yearly gaming expo. "I'm saving the batter for E3. We will absolutely bring the heat," he said.

Premium is never free, what he is saying is that they will not have a premium service until they find enough features to justify a premium service. Meaning: Not now, but we will when we add some new technology.

I figured it's more of a promise to people who are worried about having to pay for an "inferior" premium PSN, or having to pay for regular PSN.

So he just makes sure to tell people "Look, trust me, we won't charge you for inferior things. We're only going to charge for things that are WORTH charging for, so don't worry!"

Out of all the possibilities, all the new stuff they may announce, the one thing I am expecting to hear is, "2010 is the year of the PS3."

For the first time since 2006 them saying that may finally be justified, this year has been on fire.

Tbh, this year to me is insanely equal, not one company has hold over the other with both MS and Sony releasing a huge batch of exclusives which counter balance each other.

I guess we'll see how the scales fair once E3 comes around, maybe one company will gain hold after some announcements.

I suppose he's just excited, or else trying to appeal to the younger generation

I've heard Jack talk, he doesn't seem like the guy that tries too hard. I can't see him specifically using phrases like this just to appeal to people. He has always seemed liked the kind of guy to me that looks like the buttoned down corporate type, but really he's all about just having a good time.
