North American fans of the Japanese anime and manga Bleach will finally be able to get their hands on two Bleach games, Bleach: Shattered Blade for Wii and Bleach: Blade of Fate for DS. Both are fighting games, with the Wii game boasting motion controlled fighting as well as online play.

SEGA of America on Friday announced plans to bring the hit anime fighting franchise Bleach to both Wii and DS this fall in time for the launch of the television show's second season on the Cartoon Network. Bleach: Shattered Blade is underway for Wii and Bleach: Blade of Fate for handheld.

"Bleach offers both fans and newcomers alike an action-packed arcade experience that delivers fast-paced swordplay in the tradition of the animated series' intense action sequences," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president of marketing, SEGA of America. "Bleach is an exciting and highly anticipated property that translates extremely well to the versatility of the Wii Remote and the DS' portable gameplay, and SEGA is proud to be the first to bring the video game series to the North American audience."

"We are thrilled to be partnering with SEGA for the Bleach Wii and DS games," stated Linda Espinosa, vice president, content management, VIZ Media. "The SEGA games have enjoyed immense success in Japan, the manga is a top seller in both the Japan and US, and we are expecting great fan response when these games release."

Hah, I saw a Youtube vid on a Bleach game for the Wii, an ad. They'd say Bankai and all that xD Like the show, although I haven't been following up with it lately. I'll pick this up nonetheless.

As long as it isn't another JP/US exclusive, and makes it's way to Europe (though it's not an anime over here yet) this is really cool. I love the show, and this game looks really good.

Adding more mangas into games, simply great to hear this. Just a shame they dont put Battle Royale into a games as I personally think if done well that would work out really well in its own short way ^____^

If it's as good as Naruto for the Gamecube, then I won't have a problem.

Bleach is a cool anime, but I have never really played many anime games before. Maybe I'll pick this up and give it a go. From the pictures, Bleach looks to be one of them addictive games you can play often with your friends.

good, now we just need a kenshin, bebop, and champloo game.
How about Hare + Guu? That would be AESEOM, or even AWESOME maybe.

I saw a video for the Wii version. It looked pretty cool, but since you use the wiimote as your sword the kids in the video looked really funny playing it. XD Glad Bleach stuff is finally emerging state-side.

Glad this is happening, just to bad I don't have either a Wii or DS to play them on. Hopefully this will also make the PS2 developers consider the US release for those.
