The famous Steven Spielberg heads deeper into the gaming industry with some next-gen titles in the works. Some projects such as an action-puzzle simulator for the Wii, PQRS, as well as working with Electronic Arts for an adventure game, on the PS3 and 360. Can't wait to see the outcomes of these titles, and with Spielberg on the case, they deserve some attention.

If you've been paying attention these last few months, you're familiar with the glacier-slow newsdrip about what Steven Spielberg's upcoming game projects would be. Today -- perhaps a little ahead of schedule, given the story's July 16th print date -- Newsweek's N'Gai Croal finally dropped some specifics on Spielberg's projects. Not much, but hey, beats what we had last week (which is to say, y'know, nothing).

The previously-mentioned project exclusive to the Wii is an action-puzzle simulator, code-named PQRS, which Croal describes as a game that "neatly blends the creativity of the building-blocks game Jenga with the charm of a Saturday-morning cartoon". Project PQRS allows the player to move about blocks in a physics-based environment using the Wii remote as an extension of your hand -- how that will factor into the game on the whole is anybody's guess, what with a categorization like "action-puzzle simulator".

Spielberg is also working with EA on a title for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and -- oh, hell, since I can scarcely begin to imagine its application, I'll just lay down a quote:

The second game, code-named LMNO and made for Xbox 360 and PS3, can be described as "North by Northwest" meets "E.T." —if E.T. were female, grown up and, um, hot. You don't play as the girl, however. You're an ex-secret agent, and the bond that you forge while on the run with the computer-controlled woman — good, bad, indifferent — determines the nature of her special abilities and the ways in which she'll assist you. Says Spielberg: "The challenge is, can the game have an emotional impact on players while they are actively manipulating the world?" Based on the clever ways in which he and EA are extracting a genuine performance from their digital Eve—complete with eyes that widen, lips that curl and translucent skin that lights up in different colors to express her quicksilver moods—we think Spielberg's got yet another hit on his hands.

"LMNO" sounds very interesting. Why do all female robots have to be hot though? I just wanna see some screens or something now. I have no idea what to expect.

Awesome S.S is coming to the gaming world. I hope he can make some great games for the ps3 only. They need some badly.

Well luckily for everybody, as of right now he is working on games for all three consoles. An exclusive Wii title and then a title that will be released on the both the 360 and PS3.

That's pretty doubtful, I really can't see Spielberg creating a PS3 game which won't end up on the 360 too.

Both games sound very interesting, but like Vito said I have no idea what to expect with the absence of images and the such. Looks like we'll have to await them in the future.

oh, please make this right, not like movie-to-game transitions, but really, get a good game in here. I hope speilberg plays lots of games, so he doesn't come up with some cheesycrap. My guess is that he does, since he's getting so deep into gaming.

That Action Adventure game for 360 and PS3 sounds good, the thing about guiding the female computer controlled character sound very similar to ICO

I like the sound of the 360/PS3 one. I like games that I can affect by my decisions, like Nights of the Old Republic, even though I would always pick the most evil thing to say and do lol.

Ha ha, this is resonably funny but something I can not wait for, though from the sounds of it its like an advanced Spy game which offers a couple more. With EA being so good at James Bond games as it is this should be no hassel in preforming but it would be nice knowing what furthur extras there have been that you can use.

Hopefully they will bring something new to the table with game characters exhibiting emotions. They seem to think quite highly of the way Eve shows her current feelings and such.

I hope there's some kind of big red carpet debut too, that would be interesting and have him get on TV and do a lot of invterviews with main stream channels and get a lot of people interested in this game. For many it could be the first they felt like they wanted to play!

I'm definitely not gassed about anything made by Steven Spielberg and EA.
