This should come as no surprise but the 'graphically superior' version of Crysis 2 is going to be the PC version. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are pretty much running neck and neck with the PS3 being 'slightly better.'
Crytek games since Far Cry have been known to break the will of even the most powerful gaming PCs. When news hit that Crysis 2 was coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time as the PC version, gamers wondered how they could compare. Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli is leaving no doubt about where the graphically superior version of the game resides.

I said this in the forums, but there will probably be better particle physics in the PS3 version than the 360 version, and both will likely be at 720p with slightly reduced texture quality (compared to the PC version at max settings).
It's easy to cling to the idea that you need a $500 CPU and a $500 video card. It's completely wrong but it's easy for people to still cling onto for why PC gaming is too elite.
Also, you don't just buy a GPU and monitor and play your game. You do need all the other parts to go with it that actually make the computer run and can handle the GPU. No you don't need a $500 CPU and a $500 video card, but you likely need a $150+ CPU and a $150+ video card and a large enough power supply and a good enough motherboard and a hard drive and an optical disc drive and a case to top it all off. Really, PC gaming isn't all that convenient.
*facepalm*
