Persona 3 is considered to be one of the best of the PlayStation 2’s RPG, and though fairly new in the U.S. compared to many other titles, it offered a great experience that many gamers loved. The battle system as well as “social links” offered a fun experience for a fan of RPGs to enjoy.

Today Atlus USA announced the pre-order bonus for its upcoming release, for the USA and Canada, of the game on the PlayStation portable, featuring the choice of a male or female lead as well as new changes to the way the game is played to make it a little bit easier to play for fans new to the series.

The pre-order bonus is a baseball cap designed to look just like Junpei’s cap in Persona 3. Junpei is a fan favorite in the series and had an incredible story that fans experienced as the silent protagonist watching and helping the different characters as they struggled to survive school life and tests during the day, and battling demons at night.

Persona 3 Portable will offer fans of the game a new experience as they will be able to choose a female lead this time around and try out whole new interactions with the various “social link” characters. In addition to the new lead players will also have a more streamlined experience with the addition of reduced load times and one-button menu shortcuts, to make the game all the more fun to play.

How do they expect me to shoot myself in the head with that hat?

Junpei, a fan favorite? Well he certainly wasn't mine. Though I thought he was a decent character, I often got annoyed at him and his behavior.

Still one of my favorite games, though.

Yeah he wasn't so much one of my favorites, but I did like the story they came up with for him.
