After much speculation and rumors, Treyarch finally announces their next Call of Duty game. More info is to be expected tomorrow, in the form of a teaser from Treyarch.

"According to a report from VentureBeat, the next Call of Duty title developed by Treyarch will be set in the Vietnam era. Persistent rumors over the past year suggested the game, set for release in 2010, has shifted away from the traditional World War II setting."

This will be interesting, a war game that doesn't play like a huge circle jerk for america. WaW had an epic campaign so i hope this one will deliver!

I really hope this is a teaser that actually shows a teeny bit of the style this game will be going for. GameTrailers has a habit of getting the world exclusive teasers for the games that just want to show off the games logo in a pretty video.

Since we're getting close (ish) to its release frame and we've since seen nothing of it, I'd expect the first trailer to be a full blown gameplay & all one.

Little do people know that majority of the fighting in Vietnam involved walking around a jungle for a long time on edge from traps, snipers, and ambushes lol

From what I have heard Black Ops has a pretty smart idea. It is almost ditching the story that is shit every year anyway and opting for almost single self contained missions that are full of action, violence and suspense that take place in different locations and time periods. Some people may not like that idea but it streamlines all the bullshit most FPS games try to add to make some kind of story and just gives the gamer what they want and that is shooting shit. It also means online should be awesome as we'll have all these weapons from all these different time periods, locations and wars to choose from.

From looks of the trailer they seem to be getting information from out of the neural mememory of a DEAD man, that's pretty out of the norm for me :s
