It's MapleStory's 5th year since the game came out for North America! The event and updates will be added tomorrow (May 5th, 2010). There are several new additions and events being added to the update.

Cake vs. Pie
You will either join the alliance with Cake (Cake Boss Daniel) or Pie (Pie Lord Tiara) (THE CAKE IS A LIE~), you will help either team defeat Big Puff Daddy (Cake Team) or Pie Boss* (Pie Team). Winners will receive 50% Exp Bonus, ALL town merchants will have the items discounted by 20%, access to mini-dungeons, and 5th Anniversary Insignias. You can use the insignias for other special prizes.

GM Buffs in Towns
You can get GM Buffs in towns, but you must be in the town already to receive the buff. The GM Buff is named "Congrats from a GM" it raises +20 Weapon Attack and Magic Attack, +100 Defense, +50 Accuracy and Avoid, and +10 Speed and Jump for 1 Hour.

Dragon Rider PQ
A new Party Quest has arrived for anyone level 100+! It may sound like only Evan can do it, but any class can join the PQ. You have to receive a quest from Chief Tatamo of Leafre to start a chain of quest for the PQ. When you finish the quests, you now have access to the PQ, you need 2 other people with you. The boss is named Dragonoir, and if you defeat him, he will drop 5 boxes containing items for your race. They might contain one of the special durability weapons!
