Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Would you pay to play the Wii or the DS online? Would you pay for online extras? That's what Nintendo is considering as they wrestle with the best way to move forward with online gaming.
The Nintendo Wii and the various incarnations of the DS have offered gamers the opportunity to play games online for free since they were released. Granted, the online options are not nearly as robust as the offerings from the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 but they are still there and gamers have been taking games from Mario Kart to Monster Hunter Tri online to play with others for free. That may change though according to Nintendo's Entertainment and Analysis head, Shigeru Miyamoto.

It's too late to introduce a full for-pay scheme into the Wii infrastructure; it has to start next gen, where companies have the ability to make improvements.
We can talk price after and only after you can match (at least) PSN.
But we all know that if they do release a paid subscription, it'll make money. Despite all the cons with nintendo wi-fi it still has the name "nintendo" and that name alone is enough to be an instant success.
If however, they were to create an online experience comparable to Xbox Live, and accompany this service with major Zelda and Mario MMORPGs, then I'd pay for it in a heartbeat.
