It's no secret the amount of problems have fell on Take-Two with the announcement that Manhunt 2 will become an AO game in the US, and has been banned completely in the UK.

However, today in retaliation of the bannings, Take-Two's chairman Strauss Zelman has stated that the team has spent many years on the title, and that they will do anything that it takes to have the game released:

"We also have hundreds of extraordinarily talented people who have worked on this title for three years, and supporting their creative vision and bringing it to consumers as unvarnished and unchanged as possible is crucial to us"
Zelman also noted that he would release the game as AO if necessary although the problem then comes from Sony and Nintendo, who refuse to allow AO rated games on to their consoles.

What is the purpose of a rating if it means effectively that a title cannot be released?...Having a rating that we don't think is appropriate is one issue, obviously, and a separate issue would be if we feel the rating is appropriate and we can't bring it to market…that seems somewhat nonsensical.

I'm confused, if the platforms that they want to release it on belong to Nintendo and Sony, and the only place that will accept the game (US) will only do so if it's an AO Game, then how can they release it at all? From what Nintendo and Sony have said before, they don't want an AO game on their platform.

WORD to the last sentence in that article.
Make good of your vow, take-two. I'd love to see your creative genius in this game.

I guess they'll make it for the 360 then. Shouldn't take too long to put it in the XBox's format...and fans will be very pleased that they did so. Would put the 360 up a notch. Meh, all they need to do is have people show some form of ID and have responsible parents/guardians with the rating system.

Sony and Nintendo should think about the fans...it's not like there's many AO games.

I really want the game to be released, and wish them the very best with it. Though it is going to be damn hard with Nintendo and Sony saying that they don't want an AO game like that on their console. I've gone on about my views on the banning debate in previous articles, so I will just simply wish them luck here.

Microsoft prohibits AO rated games on their consoles as well. The only way for Take Two to bring this game out in its current form is to make it for PC.

The game seems like it would be... awkward with PC controls.

The last paragraph makes a valid point. Why have a rating for something that no one bothers to allow?

personally i would love to have this game as an adults only but since microsoft or nintendo or sony wont even put a0 games on its system all it does is just let parents go ahead and use th crap execuse "games are made for children"
