The release of Super Mario Galaxy 2 is meant to surpass all previous Mario games in sales, including the best selling Mario Kart Wii.

“We hope this will be one of the biggest Mario launches in the UK to date,” said Nintendo’s marketing manager Robert Lowe.

The game was first announced at E3 last year but it is only in recent months that demand has begun to rise as details on Galaxy 2 emerge – and Nintendo believes this momentum will only grow.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be released for Wii on June 11th. It has already received a perfect 10 in Edge magazine.
