At its E3 conference Tuesday night, Microsoft announced Viva Pinata: Party Animals for the Xbox 360. The game is being developed by Krome (not Rare, who developed the original Viva Pinata), and is a mini-game collection. Over 50 mini-games will be included, and can be played with up to four players split-screen or over Xbox Live. Viva Pinata: Party Animals will be released this holiday season.

At its E3 2007 press conference, Microsoft announced a new Viva Pinata game subtitled Party Animals. A mini-game collection, the new title is in development at Krome - not Rare. Players will be able to select their favorite pinata to play as, and a video showed four-player split screen.

Footage of the game showed racing, chasing ants, and burping. Over 50 mini-games will be included.

Update: In a press release sent out at the end of the show, developer Krome Studios revealed more details on the game. Party Animals will support four gamers at a time both locally and through Xbox Live. The game will star all of the popular pinatas from Viva Pinata, as well as introduce new characters to the franchise. Viva Pinata: Pary Animals will ship this holiday season.

    This will be a nice addition to the Xbox 360, we need an enjoyable game like this full of fun mini-games on the 360, if it's a cheaper than average price game (as it should be) then I'll pick this up.

    Not enough people got into Viva Pinata IMO. Playing over Xbox Live though will definitely help the game's replay value.
