One complaint that many people have about Killzone 2 was the lack of variety, most notably in the environments. Well Guerrilla Games has taken notice of the fans responses and aims to fix that in Killzone 3.

I think what Killzone 2 suffered from was the amount of variety that was in the environments and the in the minute to minute stuff that you did and we really wanted to up that," said Ter Heide.

"A lot of the variety in Killzone 2 took place in the final couple of chapters where all of a sudden you've got this big kind of mech suit. A lot of people didn't actually reach that stage."

"We look at what people do and we take on board feedback that we've gotten from the forums and from you guys to figure out the things that we need to do and variety's a big thing," he continued.

It's always good to hear devs taking the fan input into consideration.

Lack of variety was the very issue that drove me to trade Killzone 2 in, well that and the lack of reason to continue the online.

These two issues alone aren't hard fix, and it they are Killzone 3 will have stake a good chance of doing well come the time the awards are dished out. Still, the controls could do with a bit of touching up as well. As in, a better aiming system. I'm not asking for auto-help, but online is a nightmare to line up your shot.
