The title formerly known by names such as DK Jet and DK Bongo Blast has been given the official title of DK Barrel Blast. Nintendo also announced today that the game will be released on October 8th of this year.

It's been called many names, including DK Jet, but now it's official. DK Barrel Blast, as it will be known in America, is set to debut stateside on October 8. Nintendo cemented the news at its E3 2007 Media Briefing event in Santa Monica, California, on Wednesday.

Barrel Blast stars Nintendo mascot Donkey Kong in a 3D racer setting where the on-screen action is controlled by pounding and shaking the Wii remote and nunchuk. We've played the Japanese import of the title extensively and so far we're not overly impressed, largely due to the fact that the title omits support of the DK Bongos, a natural companion piece.
