A family from Chicago made the 12 hour trip to Atlanta to compete in the Southeast Regionals for the Pokemon Video Game Championship. The twin brothers, little sister, and Dad all competed and one of the brothers and sister walked away as the winners of the Junior and Senior division.

Over 2,000 people traveled to the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA to attend the Southeast Regional Championships of the Pokemon Video Game Championships featuring Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The second most attended Regional Tournament saw 278 Pokemon trainer in the Junior Division (12 and under) and 651 trainers in the Senior Division (12 and up) from all over the United States gather to compete for the chance to win a trip to the National Championship in Indianapolis, IN. In the end, it wasn't anyone from competitive teams like the Florida State Pokemon League that took the top spots. Instead, it was the Arnold family from the south side of Chicago who drove twelve hours that beat all the other trainers to sweep the number one spots in both divisions ending with a father-son battle to determine the Senior Division winner.
