EA announced today in a press release that they have formed a partnership with FUNimation Entertainment to release a Dragon Age anime, as part of FUNimation’s co-production initiative announced in November 2009.

Dragon Age has won over 30 critic’s awards so far and is the first title to be selected for the co-production initiative.

Production of the film is slated to begin May 2010 and is planned for a home video release in 2011. Bioware’s Executive Producer Mark Darrah, Creative Director Mike Laidlaw and FUNimation’s CEO and President Gen Fukunaga and Director of Original Entertainment Chris Moujaes are set to be the Executive Producers on the project.
