NC Soft Sign Exclusively to PS3 and Xbox 360 Won't Get UT3!

During Sony's press conference they announced that they signed a deal with NC soft, the creators of guild wars and City of Heroes, to create only PS3 exclusives. That means Unreal Tournament 3 will be a PS3 exclusive!

Breaking news! Sony has just confirmed at their E3 press conference that NC Soft, the developer behind the City of Heroes and Guild Wars franchise has signed an exclusive agreement to develop games exclusively for the Playstation 3.

We have to admit it, the Sony press conference is far more exciting than the Microsoft one was, so far anyway! It’s still running as we speak (8.45pm), but we just thought we’d bring you the news of their exclusive agreement. We’re also quite jealous that Unreal Tournament 3 has been confirmed as a PS3 exclusive and HAZE looks bloody fantastic!

We were hoping we’d hear an announcement about a PS3 price cut in the UK, but it doesn’t look like they’re going to announce it. Even though we’re an Xbox fan site, the Sony conference has really got us hyped for the PS3 and we’re gutted we’re not getting Unreal Tournament 3. But, we’re still not paying that much for the console, we’re going to hang out for a price drop… back to playing Gears of War for us, but we’ll have nice dreams tonight about the PS3 and the great looking Playstation Home service (you know you can take photos on your phone and then show them as pictures hanging on the wall in your virtual home!) and not mention some superb looking exclusives. We so want to play Killzone 2.

    While it has no direct effect on me because even if not exclusive I would still be getting Unreal Tournament 3 anyways, it is great news for the PS3 and with the Sony Conference not yet over things will hopefully get better and better.

    Only for now. Remember, they ended with '...this year.' I have a feeling that UT3 will be on the 360 next year or something. But yeah, they did sign a deal...I love Guild Wars, wonder if NCSoft will get something similar for PS3 to play online.

      That is the point IGN has brought up. For 2007 for sure, but after that, who knows? Much like Haze is considered a PS3 exclusive right now, but only for this year as it has been announced for the 360 and PC. PS3 owners merely get Haze first. This may be the same case with UT3.

      I was under the impression that Unreal Tournament 3 was a timed-exclusive and will be released for the Xbox 360 early next year.

    yes. I wanted this on the PS3 as UT on the PC was awesome so I hope this will be too.

    Weird. This game started off as exclusive. Then went multi. Now its exclusive again.

    It's still scheduled for PC, right? That's what I want to have it on ultimately, because I feel the gameplay is just that much better. But you get a ton of lag issues with past Unreal games, especially if you're not running a performance rig, so console might be more suited for online.

    Why did I get a 'Thumb Down?' Meh, whatever. Sony says they won't pay extra or anything for exclusives like M$ does. When it all comes down to it, it's the system that makes the difference appearantly.

      where does it say that. I heard that its not a timed exclusive.

        No, the press is saying that, Finalblade. It's seriously coming out next year for the 360. Did you not watch G4TV, E3 2007? They said it on their coverage three times yesterday.

    That's good however I Unreal doubt it will stay Exclusive forever. I don't care the the Unreal games all that much but if it comes out I'll give it a rent. However with the NCSoft part that's a different story. If a PS3 wasn't worth getting before it is now.

    Its nice to see that the PS3 is finally pulling in some exclusives as many previous exclusives have turned multi ... such as that trecharous Grand Theft Auto ...
