Infamous Announced!

Infamous, a new PS3 title by the creators of Sly Cooper (Sucker Punch) was announced by Sony today. Sort of like the world of Resistance compared to that of Ratchet & Clank, Infamous is set in a much grittier and realistic world than that of Sly Cooper.

Sony unveiled a new PlayStation 3 game being developed by Sucker Punch, creators of Sly Cooper. Slated for 2008 and called Infamous, the title is set in a much darker, grittier world than that of the cartoon racoon.

A trailer shown during Sony's E3 2007 conference gave a glimpse of a realistic, modern city, ruined by some sort of disaster. Buildings have crumbled and cars litter the streets, ablaze. Sony says Infamous is its own entry into the open-world, sandbox genre of gaming.

Dramatic music swelled while images of a police car being tossed around showed off some of the game's physics.

    It's hard to believe that the makers of Sly Cooper are doing this game. The demo they featured caught my eye. At first I thought it was something like City of Heroes/Villains when they said 'be a hero an anti-hero.' The graphics are pleasing, I just want to see more in terms of gameplay before giving it a chance. They already got my attention, though.

    I love sandbox type games, so this will be a must for me. The fact that I can play as the anti-hero too just sweetens the deal lol

    I loved Sly Cooper and the trailer for Infamous was absolutely amazing. I just can't wait for all of the good games to come out.
