Xbox 360 game demos adding achievements starting with Crackdown 2

If you're still into Xbox LIVE Achievements then heads up as Microsoft is introducing demo achievements starting with the release of Crackdown 2 tomorrow.

Xbox 360 owners have grown accustomed to hearing that familiar chime when unlocking a new achievement in their games for performing certain feats. Now they can get used to hearing that chime during their game demos starting tomorrow with Crackdown 2 according to Graeme "AceyBongos" Boyd.

    What?! Cheevo's in mah demoez?

    Cool, but this doesn't make sense... that's gonna ruin the balance A LOT.

    EDIT: Oh wait, found the sentence which makes it all make sense. I didn't think Microsoft would give anything away for free

      achievements aren't games so how can you ruin the balance of it? Achievement whores will still be achievement whores and non achievement whores will only get the base achievements (complete level 1, etc.)

      But that's cool any achievement you did in the demo will stay put until you buy the full game. So now achievement whores just get a head start.

    I think a lot of demos were already doing this. They just didn't have the official Xbox 360-styled popup message, but one the game developers made themselves.

    Yeah there is a little catch to this if you read the article. You will get the points once you play the full game, through buying or renting it.
