Capcom CFO believes PS3 price will drop further

Capcom's Chief Financial Officer, Mr Kazuhiko Abe believes that by the end of the year there will be another price drop for the PS3. He believes that Sony have a long time plan to introduce more PS2 fans to the PS3 and that this will be one of the methods they are likely to employ.

Capcom’s chief financial officer believes Sony will drop the price of the PlayStation 3 again before the end of the year in a bid to encourage PS2 owners to adopt the new system.

    Well they'd better start lowering the price in the UK and Europe if there going to do anything at all !
    Theres still no news on whether there is even going to be a price cut over here ...

    I really hope that it is reduced a great deal before Christmas, which would be a good move by Sony. I won't be getting it until it has dropped and more big hitters are out. Ah well let's hope it happens.

    In a earlier article a analyst thought that the Sony were actually getting a profit on every console, that they were just faking the PS3's sold at a loss.

    A another price cut would definitely point that way

    Yes it will during the holidays when they get more shipments in and the holiday rush twords Christmas time and birthdays.
    Maybe another $100 bucks would have there sales go up allot. People wait this time ever since it came out, people are still doing that with the Wii.

    Well if thats true then its a great idea, the PS3 here in Israel is mad-priced (4000 shekels, which is the worth of *bleep*ing 1000 USD).

    Well I think the price of the PS3 is pretty good right now but another price cut wouldn't hurt.

    A price cut would not be to bad, get more people on the console but I don't think it would be anything hassling to many people. I do not mind if they don't have one yet, but in the end it is only an amount of time before it happens.
