Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV was today demonstrated at E3 2007. The five minute gameplay presentation, shown during Take-Two's media briefing, was the first public look of protagonist Niko Bellic in action. While short, the demonstration revealed several key details about the highly anticipated October-bound title.

No video content is available due to event restrictions.

Though the crowd was sparse, interest was high about what the publisher would show, given its recent corporate boardroom coup, the Manhunt 2 rating controversy, and the mounting anticipation prior to Grand Theft Auto IV's October 16 release.

Its between this and the trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4.
Unfortunatly since I can't actually watch this I'm going to have to stay with MGS - although this does sound amazing ^^

I believe there were restrictions on camera equipment during this event.

The 40's Big Band music thing is pretty interesting. Gives hints of the players having a lot more variety of music to listen to.

      Thats what I was thinking.
By the sounds of things so far, the radio is going to cater for every ones needs. I just hope they have a rude chat show like they usually do ^^

Frame Rate issues... Don't get me wrong but Saints Row also hate frame rate issues, if GTA IV is being made on a console that can't seem to run the game perfectly then why bother, the 360 seems to have an issue with open world games.

It's all a case of optimising the game for each system once it is "feature complete". It's important to note that the game's release is still over three months away.

If these guys were smart they'd fill GTA4 with so much gory content that the game has to receive an AO rating. There is no way in hell that Sony and Microsoft would refuse to stock it. And that way, they would then be forced to let out Manhunt 2 as well because how can you approve one AO game but not the other? Then we all win. =)

Manhunt 2, at current, will not be released in the UK due to being denied classification by the BBFC. That means it is unfit to sell by law.

The ERSB rating of AO in America is bad for sales in that many stockists refuse to sell such rated titles, not to mention it breaches policies by both Nintendo and Sony.

Bumping Grand Theft Auto IV to AO would just harm sales.

While I see PL's point, I also think that getting an AO rating will be troublesome, as some places are iffy on selling M games as it is.

From what i heard this game will be under the U.S Mature rating. Which means it wont have gore or be like SA.

How would that be. I would go with the MGS4 trailer because I already know what GTAIV could be.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to Mercenaries 2: World in Flames more than this, due to the fact that there's co-op. If I was an only child, it'd be a different story.
