Online videogame download portal GameTap has revealed that it's to release "Re/Visioned" animated short films including various characters taken from its wealth of gaming titles. The first in the series - which kicks off today and runs to August 23 - will be Lara Croft, voiced by dusky Brit actress Minnie Driver.

GameTap, the first-of-its-kind broadband entertainment network from Turner Broadcasting System has announced that it will be premiering the all-new Tomb Raider Re\Visioned animated series.

The short episodes will feature a number of well-known artists and writers who are re-imagining famous videogame icons from GameTap's vast library of titles.
