Final Fantasy Agito XIII might not be the bright and cheery game that screens seem to portray. Square Enix's Hajime Tabata has revealed that Agito will let gamers "feel the true pain and weight as a war story."

Asked for a status update on Agito's production, Tabata said "The 3rd Birthday takes priority, but development is still steadily progressing. I believe it will be an FF that differs from the image fans have."

Asked what this means, he responded, "We're making it into a game where you can feel the true pain and weight as a war story. Because it has some harsh portrayals, Kitase (producer Yoshinori Kitase) is freqently making checks.

    I like the sound of this. Games that are set in tragedy generally tend to pluck the heart strings and result in a heavier emotional investment from the player. ;D Good move, Square-Enix!
