Sony announces PS3 Starter Pack for Europe

To combat the price drop of the PS3 in America, Sony have promised to release a starter park for the rest of Europe !
Now £ 425 will buy you :

  • The PS3 Console
  • 2 SixAxis controllers
  • and 2 mainstream games
    Bargain !

    Well, here it is, Sony's promised European PS3 announcement - it's a "high value" starter pack containing the console, two first-party games and two SixAxis controllers for 425 quid.

    The starter pack will hit the UK on July 18, and be available in the rest of Europe on August 1.

    According to Sony, "The choice of first party games available in the Starter Pack will vary to suit the interests of entertainment enthusiasts in each country, but will include million sellers such as Resistance Fall of Man and MotorStorm".

      wow that is still like a bundled 1000 dollar package in my currency... and they use that to combat the price cut?

      Agreed. As much as I'd like to have Resistance as well as the second controller, I'd rather do it on my own pace. It's a decent bundle pack, but the world should be treated equally and get that price drop like us.

        Agreed. If one country gets a price cut every country should get a price cut. It's not fair to console owners or future console owners. Both a price cut and the bundle should be available. That way it allows gamers the chance to choose for themselves. Save $100 or get an extra controller and 2 games.

      [sup]But think of it this way.

      Say it was reduced to £ 350. You'd get the Console and 1 Controller for that amount.
      Then you'd want to buy a game, which cost roughly around £ 30 each. That's already over £ 425 and you get another controller as well, which cost around £ 30 - 40 !

      Also the games shown on the box in the image are only an example.

      So all sorts of games will become available with this deal. I'm hoping that GTA IV will be a million seller before Christmas !

      I know that some are looking for a price but give it time, that bundle like Cruxis Mana said is pretty good.

      I mean you get a console, two controllers, and 2 games. I mean if get a console you would still look for a game, and with it varying in different locations its a bargain indeed

      Am I sure I have not already seen something along these lines in shops in the UK already or is that just with one game. Either way I wont be getting it but it is nice to see that they are still thinking about us.
