Pioneer's LaserActive gaming console did only everything way before Sony entered the market. Offering 3-D games and the ability to play games on Laserdisc.

In 1993, most gamers were busy making sweet love to their Super Nintendos and Sega Genesises. The two systems dominated the 1990s. Many companies attempted to challenge the two juggernauts with their own consoles. None, however, were as gungho as Pioneer’s LaserActive.

    ^Yeah, it would have to be roughly the size of an old record player because of the LD, bare minimum.

    It's a classic case of taking on too much at once (biting off more than you can chew). The PS3 can do as much as it can because in the 13 year interim between the launch of both consoles, technology significantly improved, scaled down in size, and got cheaper.

    Yeah, the consoles of old cost, comparatively, more than modern consoles, generally. The 3D0 has a $$$ equivalent to day, of I think over $1000 USD?
