A recent interview with Nintendo's mastermine himself, Shigeru Miyamoto, hints we'll have news about the next installment in the Animal Crossing franchise soon. The title is expected to make full use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.

"The Animal Crossing team has been very busy working on a variety of different projects. Actually, the Mii Channel was put together by the director of the most recent Animal Crossing game. His name is Mr. Nogami. Recently he said he really wants to get back to work on Animal Crossing again, so hopefully we'll be able to show something to people before too long."

This is exciting. We know virtually nothing on the game, so this gives us some hope that there will be some new information soon. I can't wait until we get some more updates. Good find.

Thanks. And yes, I'll be excited for just a screenshot or two. Hopefully "before long" means "soon".

Nice. WiiConnect24 will give the game more flexibility in its online features. I want to see WC24 put to some serious use.

I was wondering if the game was going to be cancelled, since there has been literally no updates. Glad to hear they are finally working on the game some more.
