I'm always surprised to hear about parents that aren't aware of parental controls. Not just on the Xbox 360 but on PS3, Wii, PSP, DS, etc. I'm not sure how much more game manufacturers can do to educate consumers short of having the parental control instructions come up with boot screens.

NBC station KSDK in Texas has a story about an 11-year old boy who received pornographic pictures through Xbox LIVE while playing Halo online with people he didn't know. The mother was correct to report the incident to the police and to Microsoft but the Xbox 360 also contains many parental controls to prevent Xbox LIVE from becoming XXXbox LIVE for your kids. This article will take a look at the steps needed to ensure your child doesn't talk with someone or view something you don't want.

Fact of the matter is Halo is a 15 and he shouldn't have been playing it. I don't care if the majority of young gamers play games which they're not supposed to (Which we all know they do), he's 4 years below the legal required age.

It's ridiculous how stupid little kids are ruining the fun for all of us!

If someone sent me porn, I wouldn't bother telling my parents. But yeah, kids below the recommended age is really annoying and is a fairly common sight in articles to do with incidences online. Is the bad parenting not engaging with things like parental tools, or is it letting their kids play games of an age they've yet to attain? I'd say it's obvious, but seemingly it's not.

True, but stores are crackking down on it a lot harder these days. Which I guess is ruining it for us. I'm 17 and when I tried to get FFXIII they wouldn't let me because I didn't look 15.

What the hell? It's not even a game that they're required to card someone for.

This is one of the reasons why I hate loathe and detest online gaming.

I think online gaming is one of the worst console inventions ever.

I do wish someone wpuld send me porn through Live.

Online gaming = worst console invention? Dunno what you've been smoking, but you clearly don't appreciate the fun of multiplayer. An aspect which is becoming increasingly more prominent in today's gaming environment. If a game's fun, share in that fun with others.
