Blizzard today revealed the first-day and 48-hour sales results for their highly-anticipated PC real-time strategy game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.

    I never expected to see it any other way. Considering how long SC2 was waited for, it's hardly a surprise. I still laugh how I was able to play it a few hours before it actually hit the release date though.

    Yeah, Starcraft 2 was never going to fail. Will be nterested to see exactly how the sales top out though.

    While this was hardly unexpected, it is still nice to see that a RTS game can sell well in this day and age. That genre really has suffered quite a bit these last years.

      In all fairness, though, this campaign is longer than the SC1 campaigns together. And the coming two campaigns will be just as long.

        This has both negative and positive impacts on how the campaign is played. If every campaign is only focused on one race, it wont ever be changed up nearly as much as Broodwar/SC: Vanilla was.

        Also to your other post; It helps if the games predecessor was one of the most balanced RTS games out there.
