The Kartel looks at some of the most ridiculous names protagonists have, from TV show to movies and videogames. One of Final Fantasy's most beloved heroes makes the list.

A character’s name can be a powerful tool to shape how people react to him or her. Charles Dickens was a master of this trick, using bizarre and memorable names to summarize a person’s character perfectly even before they spoke. Others don’t quite have it mastered. Here are some heroes whose names go right past “distinctive” and come back around to “silly.”

Really bad article, really badly written and really pointless. Ontop of that, it had hardly anything to do with Final Fantasy and nothing rediculous was said about any Final Fantasy characters name so I have no idea where the title for this came from.

What about Kilowog from Green Lantern? it has a racist slur in the name as well as the word kill.

What about Bob Loblaw from Arrested Development? Go on just try saying it outloud. It's almost impossible to say it without laughing.

Yeah, not a very good article, barely pertains to videogames at all, and when you admit that you can't be assed to even Google a character's name in a book then you're clearly not much of a writer. Sorry, but that's how I'm saying it.

My favorite game is Adventure Territory starring David D. Davidson. And the plot twist is: his name is Jon J. Jonson.

Not forgetting Spider-man's John Jonah Jameson and John Jonah Jameson Jr. or short JJJJ.
