Why? Irrational know what they are doing. They are responsible for the near perfect System Shock followed with the even better System Shock 2 and when no one thought they could get any better they released BioShock. To be honest this seems like the spiritual or true sequel/prequel the game that should have been made instead of BioShock 2.

The fact you credit "Irrational Games" as a whole for System Shock as opposed to the founders, and completely disregard any mention of Looking Glass, saddens me considerably.

System Shock 2 was amazing, but you should also give Looking Glass Studios the credit they deserve. After all they developed the Thief series.

This is what I'm talking about. The "true" sequel to Bioshock and I honestly can't wait.
