This is a really freaky trailer launched alongside the announcement of BioShock Infinite, previously mystified behind the name Project Icarus, a title being developed by Irrational Games the makers of the first BioShock game.

DS: "So it turns out that big announcement for a new title formerly known as ‘Project Icarus’ has been demystified. Irrational Games, the folks behind the first BioShock, have presented the world with a plot synopsis, trailer, and screen-shot gallery of their latest reveal for BioShock Infinite, a new First Person Shooter currently in development from the team. This game is set in 1912 and will feature an all-new campaign which takes place in a city above the sky named Columbia. This game will apparently be made available for the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 and is being published by 2K Games. Hit the break for the plot synopsis and screens direct from Irrational Games’ reveal website and enjoy the new trailer."

this is what i like to see. i loved bioshock, but bioshock 2 was clearly just a cash-in sequel forced out for dem moniez. tack the name on if you must, but at least make a whole new game. looks like that's what they're doing with this one. neat.

So they were getting some bad press by how much they changed XCOM... so they go and make Skyoshock?

Bioshock needed radical change. Bioshock 1 was successful because we had no idea what was coming or what rapture had within its dark and gloomy confines. Sander Cohen and Andrew Ryan through out some nice curveballs to the story and hauling around inside a giant aquarium city was all new.

In Bioshock two there were no large plot twists or points of interest and Rapture was old hat. Just new characters.

In Bioshock Infinite we have a fresh new locale to explore, which hopefully solves all the problems with making another Bioshock sequel.
