The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has come forth to ban an advertisement for the Xbox 360 version of the Final Fantasy XIII game because it was 'misleading' to gamers. The ad had shown imagery that was from the PS3 version of the game, that is in fact more crisp and full than the Xbox 360 is able to offer.

In the ASA adjudication, it was stated: “A viewer objected that the ad was misleading because the game footage in the ad was from the PS3 version of the game, which was of better quality to that of the Xbox 360.”

The complaint was upheld after the ASA made the following ruling: “We tested the two games, on screens with an identical set-up, and ran them alongside one another. We noted that there was a discernible difference in the picture quality of the two; the PS3 image in video sequences appeared sharper and colours were more vivid than those of the Xbox 360.”

Not the first time they have done something like this. They got done once before for putting out a fake image of Amped I think it was (some snowboarding game). They made the graphics look better than they were.

    This is funnier though.

God that is stupid, the 360's visuals are adequate enough.

Geeze, I could have sworn SE said multiple times that there is no difference between the games. They do not even believe their own lies...

It was mentioned on multiple occasions that the pre-rendered cutscenes and MP3 files on the 360 version would be compressed to save disc space. I'm assuming this advertisement featured the uncompressed pre-rendered cutscenes from the PS3 version.
