Catherine is shaping up to be a strange adult oriented anime game with a certain air of A Midsummer Nights Dream. Sheep, dreams, sex...while not literally AMND I can't help but think of it whenever I see anything for this game.

As evident by the game's launch trailer and now the promotional poster, Atlus wasn't kidding when it said it was making a game for adult players.

Love Persona and Atlus makes good games. I'll at least rent anything they release, this included. Assuming they bring it to the States.

Gotta say, the art style is cool. Like being sucked into anime. Can't deny it's strange though, even without subtitles.

I must say, I'm really excited for this game (hope it comes overseas), Atlus can't do wrong atm.

    Also, ninja sheep ftw.

As cool as that would be, this will make it very difficult for me to purchase this game, I saw Vincent as I strolled one night at Club Escapade in Palownia mall and when I found out he was a cameo for a new Atlus game I immediately thought: MUST. HAVE. THIS.

    Unfortunately, I am 15.

Who is she? What game if any is she from?

She is a total babe and if she is in a genre I like I might be tempted to get this.

That is of course A. It gets released in Europe and B. It gets released uncut in Europe.

Do Japanese games work on a UK 360? They are region 2 like the UK but it is still iffy to buy games from there.

You're slightly mistaken, Catherine is actually the name of the game (and probably that chick in the pic too if I can put two and two together right).

Well, they're different regions (UK=PAL, JP=NTSC), but some games aren't region locked (L4D2 for example), so you might be able to do it.

Aussie I still dont really understand you? I thought the article said she was in another game and this was made for her.

Popular characters in games can get their own spin-offs and levels you know. For instance the Atlantean Doppleganger in Tomb Raider got her own level.

Your also wrong about DVDs. Like I said Japan is Region 2 like Europe so if your TV understands the NTSC 60Hz signal they should work.

Also I have got some Warner Brothers box sets which I bought in the US are region 1 coded but they work on my PAL 360. My guess is that they were made for all NTSC areas including Japan which is R2 and because they are R2 they play on my 360.

Well, the actual main character (the guy, Vincent) was in Persona 4 for the PS2, hanging out at a bar if memory serves complaining about nightmares he's been haviing. He is the one they are probably refering to when they say 'spin-off of the persona series'.

I may be mistaken but I don't remember any Catherine being in Persona 4 (or any other Atlus games).

I'm not a big tech guy, I only go if it works on my 360 or it doesn't, and I've got three games from Japan and only 1 of them works. So I'm always careful to make sure that it will work beforehand, so I probably can't help you there

    Thanks.

I have never herd of this "Persona 4" game in my life. What was it? What genre was it?

    Also who is this "Atlus"

Persona 4 is a turn based rpg unlike most rpgs since it takes place in modern time. Atlus is a company that commonly makes turn based rpgs like Shin Megami Tensei Nocture, Digital Devil Saga, Devil Summoner and others. These games for the most part are darker than most games in the genre, especially Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga. The Persona series is a little more light hearted in comparison to it's other SMT counterparts, but in general is a darker game than most rpgs. For example in Persona 3, in order to unleash certain abilities you have to shoot yourself in the head (not with a real gun, it's called an evoker, but it gives the illusion that it is)

If you like turn based rpgs, but want something a bit different than the norm, give these games a shot, but I have to warn you that they're harder than most and will easily kick your ass if you're not careful.

Thank you I think even though 3/4 of that is just total gobbledaygook to me.

I havent herd of any of those games and I have no idea what the heck a turn based RPG (I know what a Role Playing game is) or an SMT.

Like I have said I have never herd of Persona.

The only RPG I have ever played in my life was Shenmue.

turn based, is where you have list like
          attack
          item
          wait
and you choose one and watch what happens. Persona is a great series though, and much better than a typical turn based game(which I've grown to hate) with the exception of persona which does enough to keep you engaged.

You don't know what a turn based rpg is? Haven't you ever played Final Fantasy before? Also, Shenmue isn't an rpg, it's an adventure game. Just youtube Persona 4 to get a feel for what the combat looks like. Also, SMT is just short for Shin Megami Tensei which is a the series Persona comes from, all the games I mentioned are part of the Shin Megami Tensei series because they all share similiar monsters and themes. Just watch a video of the gameplay and judge for yourself if you want to try it or not. I reccomend Persona 4 since it's a unique experience.

Zero like I have said I never been into RPGs. I tend to play Third Person Shooters, Beat 'em ups, hack n' slash and platform games.

I have never had any interest in Final Fantasy.

Sorry about the Shenmue mistake. I was told years ago that it was an RPG or at the very least it has got some RPG elements as it is 1 of those games that has got a bit of everything in it.

You have been very helpful. I will look at the videos of this game if it comes out in the UK before deciding.

Well I think all genres should be given a fair shot, but whatever, you play what you want. Persona 4 was indeed released in the UK however.
