This should be obvious as Microsoft has taken similar measures before with people playing games before they were officially released. Still, those stupid enough to jump on to Xbox LIVE while playing a pirated copy of Halo: Reach will be perma-banned.

Halo: Reach was accidentally leaked out after Microsoft made it available on Xbox LIVE for the press and intrepid pirates figured out a way to download the full game. It has since made its way on to torrent sites where it can be downloaded by all. However, before you go and jump at the chance to play Bungie's last Halo game nearly a month before it is released, be aware that doing so can get you and your console permanently banned from Xbox LIVE.

Well, obviously, it makes total sense. If you pirate the game, you completely deserve this.

Because, you know, the people who managed to pirate the game in the first place totally don't know how to circumvent an Xbox Live ban at all.

last i checked, there is no way around getting banned once you're flagged, or any method for being unbanned once it happens. you need a new unbanned motherboard if you want to play online again.

If the pirates are clever enough to hack into Microsoft to download the game then i think they're clever enough to have at least 2 xboxes, one to play pirated games offline and one to play Live. The only people who will get punished are the idiots who play the game on there real gamertags while signed in to Live.
