The studio execs are butting heads with the director and producer over the direction of BioShock. As if anyone needs to guess, the director was a hard-R and for the movie to coincide with BioShock Infinite...the studio execs want a big budget family-friendly flick.

Gore Verbinski revealed that the movie was held up over budgetary concerns. They’re still in a holding pattern, but we’ve heard from our sources that it’s not so much the budget that’s the hold up, Universal is willing to give him what he needs, but only if he waters the movie down to a PG-13 rating.

Forget about opening it up to kids; no one is going to watch it if it's complete shit.

This is a joke right? Please tell me this is a joke.

Either way the movie is going to be shit. All movies based on video-games are shit.

If they make it family friendly, they should set it before rapture fell, and focus on how grand the place is.

Don't try to make a post fall rapture PG-13, it'll lose a lot of what makes rapture rapture. It's gotta be violent and dangerous.

That's an awful idea. It wouldn't be Bioshock nor would it be an accurate fallen rapture if they made it family friendly.

I dont see how an R-rating would push away audiences. Plenty of adults love R Movies.
