At the recent E3 event, Wired News got the chance to interview Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma, the new producer of the Legend of Zelda series.
Aonuma discussed the old Zelda games, the possibilities of future Zelda games (for DS and Wii), as well as his newly completed Zelda game, Phantom Hourglass. It's Zelda mania!
Four years ago, Eiji Aonuma took on one of the most difficult jobs in the game industry: Shigeru Miyamoto's. He was made producer of the Legend of Zelda series, taking the reins of one of the world's most popular and enduring game franchises.
Having just finished the wonderful Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS, Aonuma is enthused about the future of the Zelda series, and says that his teams will create similarly re-envisioned Zelda experiences on both Wii and DS.
Eiji Aonuma: With this DS Zelda (Phantom Hourglass), I and the staff, our eyes were opened to the possibilities of the hardware, as game developers, to understand what our responsibility is. And what we were creating, what the potential was there. So not only are we planning to do the same thing for the Wii, but to continue to do so for the DS as well.

I hope to see another Zelda game on the Wii.
They are pretty good at making everything come together.
